? Why floaters?
The idea for Floaters came to us during a barbecue evening on the terrace with friends: with the tray in hand, we tried to put on our flip-flops. They were always the wrong way round. Why do flip-flops even need a left and right side? We found out it's not necessary. This is how Floaters were created - sustainable flip-flops with centrally positioned straps and a symmetrical shape that can be put on on both sides. Floaters are always right.

? Why floaters?

Double-sided - We have developed the world's first flip-flops that can be worn on both sides for you. This is unique because with our flip-flops it doesn't matter which way you put them. Thanks to their identical footbed shape, they can be easily put on again from both directions.
Vegan - Our flip flops are made from cork and recycled cotton yarn. The materials are free of animal products and are made safely and without animal additives in the EU in Portugal
manufactured.
Sustainable - Floaters are made from sustainable and recyclable materials such as cork for the sole and straps as well as recycled yarn for example for the logos. Our packaging is also made from recycled cardboard and our shipping is CO2 neutral.
Use Cases
Garden - Our floaters are particularly suitable for short distances around the house or apartment - for the quick trip to the garden to get vegetables or fruit, bring something out or pick up the mail. Your floaters are put on super quickly and always stand the right way up.
Terrace / Balcony - You prepare a cozy barbecue evening on the terrace or balcony and go out and back in several times: With your floaters you can start walking straight away, because floaters are always the right way up - even with a tray in your hand the view is blocked.
Swimming pool and pool - The cork sole makes our floaters non-slip and provides pleasant warmth to the feet. That's why our floaters are perfect for your water activities. As usual with your traditional flip-flops, you take them off at the edge of the pool and when you come out of the water, your floaters are the right way up and ready for you to quickly slip on.

Our History
Floaters is the worldwide first two-way flip-flip - a brand new category for flip-flops. Nevertheless, our idea and product is rooted in hundreds of year of shoe making history in Portugal. The country has a long standing history in shoe design and hand-crafted shoe making. The country is rich of natural resources for footwear – from cork, which is harvested in the wide country side of cork trees and with leather provided by cattle that is raised in the rich grasslands in the center of the country. Recently, shoe makers evolved in using new materials that substitute any non-nature or even leather materials on shoes. Our shoe maker in Portugal use their expertise of over 50 years to craft innovative, hence eco-friendly shoes, made out of the best local and natural materials for our customers.
